Ron Layne founded Positive Medical Transport in 2006 as Positive Mobility. The company started as a family run non medical transport agency with one wheelchair van. As Positive Mobility became more involved in the community the outstanding need for a BLS ambulance provider in Highlands County became apparent. The company bought and put its first ambulance in service just 22 months after it inception. The superior care provided by Positive Mobility to patients in the heartland helped to quickly grow the company to 5 BLS units. The company continued to provide outstanding BLS service until March of 2009 when PMT officially began it ALS branch and changing its name to Positive Medical Transport. Today PMT proudly serves Central Florida as the ONLY locally owned and operated transport company.
